What Does The Vonage App Allow Mobile Customers To Do?

Vonage has always been one of those companies that was trying to save traditional telephone service. They have continued to grow as technology moves forward, and now they have a Vonage app available to customers.

I looked at the site for this app, which looks very modern, and the customers are able to call, text, video chat and chat regularly using the app. What I'm trying to still figure out, however, is why anyone would need the Vonage mobile app to do any of those things.

Vonage just always seems like an outdated company to me. You can do all those things without paying Vonage a dime. Moreover, the Vonage app seems as though it's trying to make the company look like the 'cool' platform for communicating with others in multiple ways. There is social media and other communication options for the millennials, so is this app trying to captivate the older generations?

I honestly can't figure it out yet because while I guess there are people out there that will go for this app, I think the company should try to take a different direction. They need to be more innovative if you ask me. They do have their niche, but it's a dying niche. They went mobile, and they provided things that are already available to everyone. See this website link for further information about vonage app : engadget.com.

It appears that this Vonage mobile app is free, but there is an asterisk with fine print. Of course that part isn't full explained, but you are prompted on their site to refer people to get credit for using their services. Why would you need credit if the app is free? They make a buck somehow, right? Are you willing to pay Vonage to do all of those things that company mentions that are provided by the app?
